Open to God

What is ‘Open to God’?

An opportunity to explore in a more informal way than at other times, different aspects of our Christian faith using a variety of media to help us in our worship.

When is ‘Open to God’?

On the first Tuesday evening of each month at 7.30 p.m.  Meet for a relaxed start with light refreshments.

Where is ‘Open to God’?

In the church.

What are the key components of ‘Open to God’?

Difficult to pin down absolutely, but they often include an extended period of worship, Bible readings, a short talk or testimony, a time of open prayer, and sometimes poetry. There is often a visual focus for our worship.

Why should I consider coming?

Open to God is exciting because it aims to be just that. Together we’ve considered together topics including ‘A Resurrection Walk with Jesus’ and ‘Living Water’, and most recently we were led in a stimulating reflection on the Prayer of Jabez.

We’ve also enjoyed an evening of Songs of Praise, and candle lit Taize style worship. From time to time our young people have led us and we’ve also had the opportunity to hear reflections from St Luke’s travellers on recent visits to China, Uganda, Argentina and Jordan, to name but four!

Who can I talk to about ‘Open to God’?

Contact us to find out more. If you visit us at St. Luke's, ask to speak to Lindsay Markham, who would be delighted to tell you more.

When is the next ‘Open to God’ and what is the theme?

3rd May, 7th June, 5th July, 6th September 2011 or view the calendar of events.

We look forward to seeing you there!
